NEBOSH IGC Exam Pattern
NEBOSH IGC has 3 exams:

 

IGC 1: Management of International Health and Safety
IGC 2 : Control of International Workplace Hazards
IGC 3 : International Health and Safety – Work related Practical Assessment

 

(Note: All papers can be taken together or individually)

 

COURSE CONTENT:
The NEBOSH International General Certificate programme is classified into 3 units as follows.

 

Unit IGC1: Management of International Health and Safety

  • Foundations in Health and Safety Management systems.
  • Health and Safety Management Systems 1 – Plan
  • Health and Safety Management Systems 2 – Do
  • Health and Safety Management Systems 3 – Check
  • Health and Safety Management Systems 4 – Act

 

Assessed by a 2 & ½ hour Written Exam.
• Unit IGC2: Control of International Workplace Hazards
o Workplace Hazards and Risk Control
o Transport Hazards and Risk Control
o Musculoskeletal Hazards and Risk Control
o Work Equipment Hazards and Risk Control
o Electrical Safety
o Fire Safety
o Chemical and Biological Health Hazards and Risk Control
o Physical and Psychological Health Hazards and Risk Control

 

Assessed by a 2 & ½ hour Written Exam.
• Unit IGC3: Health and Safety Practical Application

 

Assessment and Certification:
• IGC 1 – Theory (passing 45%)
• IGC2 – Theory (passing 45%)
• IGC3 – Practical workplace assessment (passing 60%)

Course completion certificate is awarded by NEBOSH for each paper. Complete qualification can be obtained on successful completion of all three papers.
